Using VGI and Social Media Data to Understand Urban Green Space: A Narrative Literature Review

Volunteered Geographical Information (VGI) and social media can provide information about real-time perceptions, attitudes behaviours in urban green space (UGS). This paper reviews the use of VGI data research examining UGS. The current state art is described through analysis 177 papers to (1) summarise characteristics usage from different platforms, (2) an overview topics using such sources, (3) characterise approaches based on pre-processing, quality assessment improvement, modelling. A number important limitations priorities for future are identified. include issues acquisition representativeness, quality, as well differences across platforms study areas rural areas. a focus investigating factors related physical activities UGS areas, park accessibility, multiple sources and, where appropriate, making more effective personal information. In addition, be extended examine network suggested by posts that shared, re-posted or reacted being combined with textual, image geographical extract representative analysis.
